Bought off of EBay for $250. Started and ran good when I went and looked at it. Digital Dash not working, Needed new Top, Power seat not working, air not working, leather seats worn and paint faded. After getting it home, I was able to repair the dash (just a cold solder joint). Put seat covers on the seats and rewired the seat. The rest of the car drove, performed and rode excellent. Charged air with 134 and works nice and cold. Car only had 86k on the odometer. It also breezed through inspection with no problems :). After driving the car for a while, stock boost wasn't going to cut it, so I ordered a Stage 2 computer from FWDperformance . It raised the boost from the stock 7psi to 14psi and what a difference. Car was still plenty rich on the A/F gage so time for more boost of course (evil laugh) I put together an water injection system and manual boost controller. Cranked the boost up to 18psi and let the fun begin. Car is rated at the factory for 146hp, 170tq 7psi. It's said you gain 7-10 hp for each pound of boost and I'm running 11lbs more than stock. Lets see that's between 77-110hp gain. So 223 to 257hp isn't to bad. Problem is the car is soo unassuming it's got to be and insult getting you butt handed to you by it. It's great to fly past a ricer or stang and see the look on their face as the old beat-up 4cyl car car goes flying by. Smoking the tires is easy and on the auto's luxury lazy 1-2 shift it will light em up again for 50ft or more. My friends all think I'm was crazy talking up this ugly car until they get in it. It's got just the right amount of turbo lag so that when you hit it the car just creeps along and they think I'm full of it. A couple of seconds later the boost gauge rockets to 18 and the car just fly's. I've done no work to the body, stock wire hubcaps, stock quite exhaust and faded paint. Talk about a sleeper.
